THE FLIPPING CONTINUES! Off the back of my shoot with Peter, @aldiuk crowned him their ‘champion flipper’.
A 91-year-old trampolining legend stunned onlookers by carrying out a perfect pancake flip whilst upside down. Gold medallist Peter Quinney pulled off a 360-degree rotation on a 4ft high trampoline to raise money for charity. He has been crowned Aldi’s ‘Champion Flipper’ after he successfully performed the aerial pancake flip. The ultimate Pancake Day stunt took place at Wiltshire School of Gymnastics, where Mr Quinney, who is from Melksham, Wilts, has been training for over 40 years.

FLIPPING INCREDIBLE! A British champion gymnast has made a winning comeback to trampolining 40 years after his last competition - at the age of 91. Backflipping great-grandfather Peter Quinney proved age is just a number as he won two gold medals at a trampolining competition.
The ‘remarkable’ RAF veteran - who previously celebrated his 90th birthday with a double backflip - won gold in the team and individual categories at the competition for adults over 40.

A TOAST TO THE TREES! Fire, folklore and traditional song roared through the forest this weekend. The first New Forest Wassail in over 170 years took place at New Forest Cider in Burley, Hants.
Simon Wood, the event organiser, said, “Wassailing is an ancient English custom rooted in pre-Christian ritual and later shaped by medieval rural life. The word derives from the Old English wæs hæl, meaning ‘be in good health,’ a toast that encapsulates the ceremony’s purpose: to promote fertility, prosperity, and communal well-being.”

Animal rights charity PETA encouraged people at a seafood festival to go vegan - with an unusual ‘kittenmonger’ stunt. PETA set up a stall offering ‘locally caught tabbies’, ‘kitten cakes’, and ‘fresh local Siamese’ to challenge what they call ‘speciesism’ - where some animals are regarded as superior to others.

Throwback to June 2024, when I shot my first national PR job through Solent.
Krispy Kreme launched a corporate office deal in the lead-up to the Euros that summer. Being thrown in at the deep end and navigating the pace and expectations of a high-profile client was an incredibly valuable experience early on.

Hobby pilots have been left up in arms over plans to get rid of their beloved airfield - to make way for 4,250 new homes. Pilots at Popham Airfield are furious over new proposals to turn their cherished land in Jane Austen country into a ‘garden village’.

A POP-PY OF COLOUR! A huge knitted poppy ‘waterfall’ creates a splash of colour as it cascades down the tower of St. John’s Church, Boldre, New Forest, Hants.
Volunteers add finishing touches to the display. The congregation were encouraged to contibute as over 7,000 individually hand-knitted poppies were needed. All made from a whopping, 124km of yarn.
The finished piece was then draped over the bell tower with some remaining poppies displayed inside and around the church gardens in respect of Remembrance.
