PETA - Kittenmonger

Animal rights charity PETA encouraged people at a seafood festival to go vegan - with an unusual 'kittenmonger' stunt. PETA set up a stall offering 'locally caught tabbies', 'kitten cakes', and 'fresh local Siamese' to challenge what they call 'speciesism' - where some animals are regarded as superior to others. The 'provocative display' aimed to encourage people to go vegan by drawing comparisons between the cuddly pets and the crustaceans on offer at the event. They protested just outside the Lymington Seafood Festival in the New Forest, Hants, an annual gathering showing locally caught produce with music and chef demonstrations.
