NFNPA - New Forest National Parks Authority - Buckler’s Hard Archaeological Dig

Archaeologists have made new discoveries about Lord Nelson's shipbuilding after they unearthed a slipway used to make his favourite battleship. The 18th Century slipway used to build HMS Agamemnon has been excavated by archaeologists working in a historic national park. Experts working on the excavation said it is the first time one from this period has been totally uncovered in the UK. The excavation, at Lord Nelson's famous shipyard Buckler's Hard, has uncovered key materials that were used ahead of the Battle of Trafalgar.
